A group of researchers who want to help foster a better understanding of what immunotherapy is and create a platform that promotes inclusivity in the field
Podcast beginnings...
As researcher's within the field of immunotherapy, we are all very excited and passionate about what this newer form of treatment has to offer. But through questions raised by family, friends, patients undergoing active treatment, and people we met at conferences, we realized that maybe it was not clear to everyone what exactly immunotherapy is.
So we decided to change that by creating a platform to introduce people to the many different types of immunotherapy, discuss the cool research ongoing in the field, and get people excited about this powerful new form of treatment that harnesses our own immune system!

Gillian Savage
I'm a PhD student at the University of British Columbia, Canada, researching how to improve CAR T cell therapy in difficult to treat lymphomas, which allows me to combine my passion of immunology with my desire to improve outcomes and treatment options for cancer patients. When I am not in the lab you can find me up on the mountains with my skies, bike, or runners!

Grace Bernard
I'm a master's student at UBC but I am based out of the BC Cancer Research Institute in Canada! My research focuses on creating a new type of CAR T cell that targets solid tumours. In my spare time I love knitting, reading, and cooking.

Pauline Loos
I started as a veterinarian, and after completing my PhD in Immunology and Virology, I am now a post-doctoral fellow at the BC Cancer Research Institute. My main project focuses on CAR T cell immunotherapy with the aim of enhancing its efficacy in treating solid tumours. Whether I'm in the lab, enjoying fresh air (preferably on horseback), or navigating the thrilling adventures of motherhood, it's all part of the journey!

Lauralie Short
I'm Lauralie, a third year Ph.D student at the BC Cancer Research Institute in Vancouver. Before moving to Vancouver, I studied pharmacology and immunology, where I discovered the use of immunotherapies for cancer and studied the use oncolytic viruses to treat pancreatic cancer. Now, my Ph.D project focuses on using novel technologies to manufacture CAR T cells inside the body! When I am not in the lab, I love to ski, play volleyball, cook and travel.

As a leukemia cancer survivor and patient advocate, Nadine provides us with a patient perspective on all things immunotherapy. For fun, you can find her enjoying the outdoors or travelling the world!
